Peer Support Groups
Domestic Workers Corner Hong Kong is a Facebook peer support group organized by a group of experienced and dedicated migrant domestic workers who volunteer their time to provide a safe and supportive space for fellow domestic workers in Hong Kong. Through sharing experiences and offering advice, the group aims to empower and improve the well-being of domestic workers in the community.
Migrant Writers of Hong Kong is a community of writers who share their stories and experiences as migrants in Hong Kong. The group aims to amplify the voices of migrant writers and promote cross-cultural understanding through creative writing. It is a supportive space for writers of all levels and backgrounds to connect and share their work.
Self-love Cupid is a community dedicated to promoting self-love, self-care and mental wellness for migrant domestic workers in Hong Kong. They provide a safe space for members to share their experiences, support each other, and learn about self-care strategies. You can follow their Facebook and Instagram accounts for daily inspirational messages and updates on their events and workshops.
Social Justice for Migrant Workers is a Facebook group dedicated to promoting the rights and welfare of migrant workers in Hong Kong. Led by a team of dedicated volunteers, the group advocates for fair treatment and social justice for this vulnerable population. Join the community to learn about issues and connect with fellow advocates.
Social Enterprises or NGOs
The Filipino Nurses Association Hong Kong (FNAHK) is a non-profit organization established to promote the welfare and professional growth of Filipino nurses in Hong Kong. FNAHK provides a platform for networking, education, and support for its members, as well as advocating for the rights and interests of Filipino nurses in the healthcare industry.
HelpBridge is a free mobile app designed for migrant domestic workers (MDWs) in Hong Kong to provide them with access to various services and resources. The app offers a range of features, including a directory of helper-friendly businesses, an events calendar, and access to emergency hotlines. It also provides resources on workers' rights and legal services. The app is available in multiple languages and is designed to empower MDWs and improve their overall well-being.
Lensational is a non-profit social enterprise that uses photography to empower and give a voice to women worldwide. It offers photography training and opportunities for women to share their perspectives through exhibitions and publications. The organization aims to challenge stereotypes and promote gender equality.
Mind HK is a non-profit organization that aims to improve mental health in Hong Kong. They provide a range of services, including education, advocacy, and awareness campaigns. They also offer resources and training to individuals and organizations to help them support mental health in their communities.
Saung Angklung & Tari (SAT) Hong Kong is an organization that seeks to preserve and promote traditional Indonesian music, particularly the use of the Angklung instrument. The Angklung is a bamboo musical instrument that originated in West Java, Indonesia. SAT Hong Kong performs at various events in Hong Kong and combines their Angklung music with other languages such as Mandarin, Cantonese, English, and Indonesian songs.
